State seen readying plans for Green Line extension

The state is expected to announce plans soon to build the MBTA's Green Line extension through Somerville and West Medford, one of the transit projects legally required as part of the Big Dig, said state and local officials who have been informed about the plan.

Oddly, the map of the proposed route doesn't show a stop at the city hall/school/library complex. I would have taken that for granted!

Isn't Gilman Square right next to it? I think they're considering adding another commuter rail stop there, too.

Why they don't already have a bus that goes down McGrath across the Mystic to connect Somerville and Medford is beyond me.

The 90 should be enough for everybody! You know, the magical 90 which some days just decides not to run! The wonderful 90 which decides to take Sunday off entirely! The beautiful 90 which last leaves Davis at 9:30, and Wellington at 10 PM! I don't see why everybody doesn't just rise up as one and embrace the 90 as the True Community-Building Experience that it is.

Formatting request: please use descriptive link text rather than re-using the URL as the link text.

The reason: long URLs like that one force the browser window of a friends page to go wider since there's nowhere to wrap the line. If you don't have a big monitor you then have to scroll left-to-right to read every line on your friends page.
