Does anyone know of a fun baseball or softball league?

In the spring a young woman's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of baseball...

No, seriously, last week's weather made me itch to play baseball or softball again, and I haven't in years. Can anyone recommend a local league, and/or loose association of pick-up games? I found this: http://www.bostonbaseball.com/massachusetts.php but it seems like a lot of information to go through, and I might have better luck with personal recommendations.

I'm looking for something not very competitive. I am not a very competitive person, and I'm also not a good baseball player. Also, I can't join a team that will need me to be there for every game, because my work schedule is unpredictable and includes some weekends. On the other hand, I'm also looking for a group that will not describe themselves as a drinking team with a baseball problem.

Anyone have any ideas? Recommendations (or words of caution) if you are familiar with a specific league?

Thanks for the recommendation! It looks like a great option for some people. I should have mentioned in my list of things I'm looking for that I want a league that's cheap to join. $75 is not unreasonable, but it's not in my budget right now.

My friends belong to a local team with a lot of spirit and gumption, but not major league material. I sincerely doubt they'd describe themselves as a drinking team with a baseball problem. I'll see if I can find out more info.

aahhh yes I'm gonna keep my eye on this post. I'm looking for the exact same thing! I'm seriously un-competitive but love playing baseball.

If we want to get really crazy, if there's enough interest we could put together a group of people who play pick-up / scrimmage games somewhere near Davis Square. I don't have time to be the only organizer, but I could help organize...
