davis_squareOver the next few weeks, you might want to make a point of wandering past the bikeway community garden behind the Brooks drugstore. Because it's about to enter its purple phase!
We've coordinated the plantings in the front beds so that things of similar color tend to bloom at the same time, and soon the iris, sage, ornamental thistle, flowering onion, and many other purple flowers will be in full display. It's quite dramatic.
In summer, the garden will fade into autumnal colors, with mostly orange, red, and yellow. And then we'll plant more tulips for the spring.
