Our lil condo is a little too shabby and not enough chic these days.  The wooden railings on our front steps are all crapped out and need replacing.  In addition, we are considering having the porch decking redone.  I'm looking for recommendations for repair folks/companies - and, any idea what kind of cost range I'm looking at?

Thanks in advance!

This old discussion (http://davis-square.livejournal.com/2272657.html) includes a good experience with porch renovation.

I twice used Coelho Contracting for deck painting and repair and was happy with the results. As I recall, it ran us a few thousand dollars, but we had several decks in our old condo.

Andy Davis is great, if very busy--just don't let anyone use anything but pressure-treated rot-resistant lumber and make sure to stain it only after a few years of curing, no paint.

I highly recommend Tibet Contruction. they reshingled our whole triple decker, fixed lots of deck stuff, and painted. They were fast, polite, clean and thorough.
