Chipotle Promo to Visit 8/22 & 9/5 Davis Sq Farmers Market

Looks like Chipotle is doing a promotional tour and will visit the Davis Sq Farmers' Market on August 22nd and Sept. 5th.

Looks like they are doing nice freebies at other stops on the tour:

In celebration of Farmers Market Week, August 5th-11th, and to help support local family farmers, we'll be handing out FREE $10 farmers market tokens to the first 250 customers.

Come visit our booth! We'll have tote bags for the first 50 people who show, Grow Your Own Cilantro kits, salsa scavenger hunt cards, and other fun stuff.

That fits in a lot better than the promo booth for AT&T Blackberries a few weeks ago. Which you could not eat.

yeah, i found that bizarre and frankly a little annoying. i don't go to the farmer's market for the commercials.

They were at the Central Square one not too long ago...they handed out samples of salsa, and buy one/get one free cards.

What does this mean?

"This year [Chipotle] will purchase more than 10 million pounds of local produce."

Is anyone making sure they're actually using that produce at Chipotle restaurants within some unspecified distance of the farms it came from?

Or is it just local to the produce warehouse where they bought it?

They had free $10 tokens today (but will probably run out soon, if they haven't already). They'll also have $10 tokens this Friday at Copley Square and next Monday at Central Square. They won't have any tokens when they return to Davis next month.

Besides the tokens, they also are handing out "Buy One, Get One Free" coupons for Chipotle.
