Fireworks Sunday evening - Charles River in Brighton

According to Mass. DCR, the Boy Scouts will shoot off fireworks over the Charles River in Brighton, between the Eliot and Arsenal Street bridges, some time between 7 and 10 pm this Sunday. It's part of their SOAR (Scouting's Outdoor Adventure on the River) event.

Because shooting fireworks over a river is definitely a way to teach kids to care for their environment...

And discriminating against people for their sexual orientation is a great way to teaching "affirmative values such as fairness, courage, honor, and respect for others."

The only way I'm going to a scouting event is waving a giant rainbow flag.

And if you did, you'd probably be welcome there. The Boston Minuteman Council differs with the national organization on this subject, and in 2001 adopted a policy of non-discrimination with regard to sexual orientation.
