Looking for crutches

I've hurt my foot running earlier this week and would like to stay off it for a while.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to find crutches - I didn't know they were such an exotic item.  I've asked friends, checked every Walgreens and CVS in the area, checked with pharmacy at Harvard Vanguard - nothing, zippo, zilch.

Does anybody know where I can purchase a pair of crutches, or does anybody have a pair I can borrow for 10 days or so?

Fun Fact: The person working at the pharmacy in the Magoun Square CVS didn't even know what crutches were.  That actually scared me.

Edit: I've checked at: Davis CVS, Magoun CVS, Winter Hill Walgreens, Beacon St Walgreens.  I'm assuming that since none of them had it, most other ones won't either.

Edit:  I found them at the Skandarian Apothecary.

I bought a new pair in January for my daughter and she used them for one week; they are in new condition. You are welcome to borrow them. I'm on Elm Street, right near Posto.
I am heading out soon but if you want to let me know, I can put them out in the driveway. (I would need them back when you're finished but no time restriction at all)

I'll do you one better: you can get loaner crutches for free from the Hospital Equipment Loan Program in the basement of the Malden Masonic Lodge, 123 Exchange Street, Malden. They're only open Saturdays, and I'm too late for today, so suddenly this advice seems less helpful. But for posterity:

They are FULL of crutches and walkers. They ask that you return the item when you're done with it so it can be cleaned and re-loaned.

also for posterity, if one had several walkers or wheel chairs, could one donate them there? I had a really hard time trying to find a place to donate to.

I assume so, though perhaps call first for walkers and crutches because last I heard they are rolling in those. Wheelchairs might be in higher demand? I had the impression that some stuff is constantly sold out and some stuff is constantly stocked.

I believe that the Rite Aid on Somerville ave had them when I was looking at ankle braces a couple months back.

This is very strange, given that CVS.com has a long listing of crutches and canes that you can order online.

CVS stores make the decision to carry larger durable medical goods in-store based on floor space. Some of the larger stores out in Western Mass have crutches and walkers and those things that make the toilet seats higher, but they're about twice the size of the CVS in Davis.

I haven't been there recently to confirm this, but I am pretty sure Goodwill usually has some.
