Halo in the sky?
Oct. 28th, 2012 01:33 pmYesterday a few of my friends (not me, unfortunately) saw a big halo/inverted double rainbow thing in the Somerville sky, similar to this. It definitely happened, I heard accounts of it from friends who don't know each other. Did anyone else see it, and if so, did you manage to get pictures?

Date: 2012-10-28 06:07 pm (UTC)The link you gave comes closest to any other photos I've seen of what it looked like overall. And it persisted for at least an hour - I didn't go home to get my good camera because I didn't think it would last that long.
Sadly, the pictures from my phone camera did a poor job of catching the central rainbow portion, and it would've taken a very wide angle lens and a very good view of the sky to get the whole thing in one shot - the larger rainbow seemed to go from horizon to horizon!
One friend was telling me last night that a friend of hers saw something similar years ago, the day before a massive storm dumped over a foot of water on Florida...
