Really wishing for a search feature because I'm pretty sure people have mentioned this place before.

Anyway, I'm looking at going to Martsa on Elm for a dinner date. Any reviews? or suggestions of a different place to go if you think it's really lousy? If you have a different place to recommend in the Davis/Porter area that's ethnic, that's great.

Thanks!

ETA: Thank you for all the wonderful help and advice. I'll probably try Martsa this time and go for House of Tibet another time in the nearish future.

I absolutely love Martsa. I've been trying to frequent them as much as possible to help them stay in business (because, well, things have a tendency to disappear in Davis). I don't have much experience with Tibetan outside of them, though, so I have no comparison.

My recommendations are the amdo-tsel, the steamed vegetable momos, and the hot lime drink. There're other fantastic dishes, but I'm blanking on the names.

Here's a recent review:

I love the place too. Although they are small, they've always gone out of their way to accomodate the largeish groups I've gone there with. I've always found their food to be fresh, and extra tasty. I know nothing of House of Tibet as I've never eatten there.
