Boxes

It's that time of year...the time when packages start going mysteriously missing from front porches. No, wait, not that. The time of year when you start getting items delivered in large boxes! And after removing said item from said box, you probably think, "hooray, another item to carefully break down and place lovingly in my enormous blue recycle bin courtesy of the City of Somerville." Unless you have children and/or cats, in which case it's too late because the box has already become a plaything.

But before recycling that large box, won't you please think of the children? Specifically my children, who would be very sad if their belongings didn't move with us to our new home because of a lack of boxes. That could totally happen* if you don't give me your box. How would you sleep at night?!

If you have a large-ish box** that you don't need, please let me know. You can just put it on your front porch (to decoy the package thieves) and email me the address (mamajoan at gmail) and I'll come by and get it. Thanks!!

Oh, I'm so bummed. I just put out about 10-12 boxes of that size this morning (so i'm sure they are gone with the recycling) and I didn't even think to post to see if anyone needed them. :(

I will have a good number of said boxes in about a week. Is that still helpful? Or I guess I should ask you again in a week, because you may acquire all you need in the intervening time.

Thanks for appreciating my humor. :) I'm not actually moving for several weeks yet, but I thought I had better post early, before people start getting rid of the boxes in which their holiday goodies get delivered. So yes, I think the odds are good that I'll still be seeking boxes next week, unless other DSLJ members seriously inundate me. :)

I have a large box (larger than a microwave) that you are welcome to, if you want it? It was used to ship a kitchen sized trash can and assorted other sundries from Amazon. I can get specific measurements for you this evening (I was going to pester my housemate to break it down this past weekend but forgot).

I'm not in Davis anymore though- I'm just east of Magoun Sq, and I don't think I'd want to take this on the bus, but you could!

We leave a ton of broken down boxes in front of our store Davis Squared (409 Highland) on Monday nights for Tues morning recycling. Help yourself, just please leave the rest neat an orderly for collection tomorrow. Happy holidays!
