Looking for recommendations on a carpet installation company that ideally has some sort of environment where we can go look at samples and options available. We dont mind traveling a bit so it doesnt have to be local necessarily :) Thanks!

Cambridge Rug (http://www.cambridgerug.com/)? I dealt with them for vinyl flooring rather than carpet, but they do carpet as well and have lots of sample books.

I've used Ace Floor Covering in Ball Square for many years. They are in the same block as Yak and Yeti but a bit further up towards the Boston Ave end.

Depending on how fast you need things done, Lechmere Rug is good (even if they have an awful website). They had the fastest install window available of the places we looked at this summer.

I agree, Lechmere Rug did an excellent job with two stair runners. You can save a lot using the remnant rolls, and there are a lot of them.

Lechmere rug does a great job. Their store is small but they have lots of samples to show, plus discounts on carpeting leftovers (which are sometimes large enough to carpet a room).
