CITY RESUMES FLU CLINICS TONIGHT: Message from Mayor Joe Curtatone:

Today, the Cambridge Health Alliance provided the City with an additional 100 doses of flu vaccine for adults over age 18. Starting tonight, free flu shots will be available Thursdays, 5-7pm, at the Health Dept., 50 Evergreen Ave., while supplies last.

Please also note that as of today, Jan. 10, all local pharmacies report they have some vaccine, and you should also check with your primary care provider. Also, as of today, only 25 flu cases have been confirmed in Somerville. If you have questions, contact Public Health Nurse Manager Maureen Monagle at 617-625-6600 x4320.

The Porter CVS had vaccine at the pharmacy, but the Minute Clinic ran out. My insurance only covers vaccinations at clinics and doctor's offices. I have no idea why CVS couldn't redistribute the vaccine *within their own store*.

my insurance covers the shot as preventative care, but only at in-network providers.
