There is an elderly gentleman often walking around Davis pulling a two wheeled cart whom I assume is homeless. I don't know his situation as I've never approached him for fear of violating his privacy. However I'm now worried about his safety during the storm.

What shelter options exist for the homeless in the Davis area? Does anyone know if this gentleman sleeps out or not? If he does and there are local options I'd like to get him some assistance if I see him today.

I moved from the area a few months ago so I don't know his winter situation but during the warmer months, he definitely slept outside. His main spot was the entry way of 312 Highland, what was the dance studio.

The Somerville Homeless Coalition has an adult shelter in the basement of Holy Bible Baptist Church (the big stone church on College Ave). I don't know if they're adding beds during the storm.

There's also a shelter in Harvard Square. They have a limited number of beds, but iirc they can make exceptions in emergency situations like this. http://hshshelter.org/ (http://hshshelter.org/).

You can also call 211.

Homeless, or those aware of the location of a person without shelter, should dial 911.
