Does anybody know about a disturbance about 6:15 at the Davis Square T stop involving four police cars and two ferrets?

No, it's not a joke, even though it sounds like one! One of my tenants reported this when she got home.

I don't think so. I saw two women out walking their ferrets by the bikepath arround that time (they had special littke ferret harnesses on (the ferrets, that is, not the women)). I guess it must have been just before whatever happened happened.

I saw them earlier on Grove St. The ferrets looked adorable half-scurrying, half being dragged down the street in their little harnesses. :)

I saw the police cars, and a guy in cuffs, making a bit of noise (the guy, not the cuffs), but didn't stay long enough to find out what it was about.

Other than almost getting smashed by a police car (no siren, approaching an intersection) that came hurtling off the bike path through the brooks lot (as I turned down that street and into brooks) to go bust the guy, no, I haven't heard squat.

Ferrets were just material witnesses to a crime they did not commit.

The Somerville News reporst that a man was arrested for purse snatching outside the Davis Square T stop on Tuesday at about 6 pm.

No ferrets were arrested at the scene. The two ferrets could have just been innocent bystanders or possibly principal witnesses to the crime.

Well, if you really want to hear a bad joke with a painfully contrived opening line, I could tell you about the accident at Hood dairy when all the automatic milking machines exploded.
