I'm restarting this thread, because when it was asked about a year ago, the clear recommendation was Dr. Hobbs.

Unfortunately, she's no longer accepting new patients and they aren't making exceptions.

Is there anyone else at Harvard Vanguard that folks would recommend? The doctor I'm seeing there now isn't worth seeing, so I need to change PCPs.

Send a PM about who you consider not worth seeing?

Mine is Dr. Berger officially. I see her nurse Joan way more often due to scheduling.

I like Dr. Angel.

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Slavsky, for the record. She is competent, but her bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired.

I've said in this forum before that I put up with her brusqueness because she knows her stuff. *shrug*

Same here. She is efficient and knowledgeable, just not cuddly.

Yeah - most no-bullshit doctor I've ever had.

Plus, leopard print at the office.

I don't need a doctor to hold my hand. I DO need a doctor who believes me when I say that something I am experiencing healthwise is not the usual for me. In incidences where I have come in obviously ill, she has been fine. As a general physician, I don't think I would recommend her, for the reasons above.

Dr. Angel was my PCP when I lived there, and I have no complaints about him. He was nice, listened to what I had to say, didn't try to push me on things I wasn't keen on, and wrote me referrals to specialists I wanted to see. I can't say he was amazing, but that's only because my health has been pretty good, so I haven't had to put a lot of energy into getting more than basic health care, or otherwise needed a PCP who had my back in major ways.

I had the same experience as you with Dr Angel. He did not listen and I felt like he talked down to me. I ended up finding someone in the Medford HVMA office.
