Invasive Species Identification and Removal along the Somerville Community Path

6:00-8:00 pm
Meeting at 6pm behind the Brooks Pharmacy in Davis Square by the Path Community Gardens

Volunteers will learn how to identify invasive species and then will help with removal of invasive species and weeds along the Somerville Community Path. Groundwork Somerville is a community-based organization designed to serve as a catalyst for reuse of former Brownfield sites and for community revitalization in Somerville.

What's an invasive plant?

My dad was head Plant Taxonomist for the state of California...

Off the top of my head, an Invasive Plant is, basically, a weed. More specifically, it's an introduced plant that competes with, and usually takes over the ecological niche/threatens the survival of of a native plant.
