If you mean when is the start date for a summer sublet, I would guess it's usually 6/1.
If you mean when are they generally posted on Craigslist, I would say anywhere from a month and a half beforehand, up until the very day the sublet starts.
We were looking for a subletter for 2/1 and posted it on CL on 12/15, and didn't find a serious taker until a week before move-in.
I wouldn't expect too many to be posted yet; the timeframe is basically "when people figure out their summer plans well enough to know that they're not going to be around". When I was looking there was some early stuff but March-April is really when it heated up.
I think there's also more supply than demand, so leaving it until late can work OK, but some tolerance for the stress of not knowing where you'll live in a few weeks is required!
