Branches from the storm

So several large branches blew off a tree near my house & into my backyard during yesterday's storm. What is the proper procedure for getting rid of them? They're huge, and I suspect that even if I am able to cut them into smaller pieces, they won't fit in the Garden Refuse container I have. Thoughts? [not sure I tagged this correctly; mods feel free to change]

DPW website says you can tie bush and tree limbs into 3' x 3' bundles as part of yard waste recycling. Next yard waste pick-up is the week of April 14 (put it out on your regular trash day).

And if cutting them up is a lot of work, putting up a sign "WHACK THINGS WITH AN AXE, ten swings for a dollar" in your front yard, and help your neighbors burn off steam.

I usually either cut them down with my sawzall or put them in the back of my truck and bring them in the yard waste dumpster at Franey Road.

If I had either a sawzall or a truck those would be my choices as well.

I think I'm going to borrow a friend's chain saw & then take smacaski's advice .

A chainsaw is more powerful and faster than a sawzall at cutting branches. You'll be done quickly.
