davis_squareHollywood Express in Porter Square, the only remaining video store in our area, is closing on June 30 according to their web site. The web site says, "A grand sale of all our film inventory is currently ongoing."
At their height, they were a full-fledged mini-chain with additional locations in Davis Square (where Buffalo Exchange is now), Central Square, and Twin City Plaza. They survived the demise of all their big-chain competitors such as Blockbuster, West Coast Video, and (similarly named but unrelated) Hollywood Video.
