Anyone know what's up with this loud bang I've been hearing about this time of night lately, somewhere east of Ball Square?

Wild guess: could it be night-time construction on the Broadway bridge, which is just east of Ball Square?

It doesn't sound like blasting, and I'm pretty sure they're not doing any blasting on that project, especially right now when they're just rerouting utilities. Sounds more like a firework or a really loud backfire.
