On our increasingly hip Winter Hill, the newest biz to open is Tipping Cow.

I tried the "sweet corn" tonight--I never had corn ice cream before. It's super creamy, and delightfully corny. I assume because of the corn that it means it's a serving of vegetables, right?

Great, thanks. Things really do seem to be heating up over heah. There's a Winter Hill neighborhood group forming. We have some new construction that will lead to new stuff coming in across from the new brewery. So I expect increasing activity.

What 'new stuff' will be in that construction? And what does the city plan to do about the vacant Star Market?

I wish I knew about the Star Market. But having a neighborhood organization to press on issues like that might help. It certainly comes up in every conversation we have--either city sponsored design meetings, or the smaller resident ones. Even if we can't actually do anything positive because the owner refuses all approaches from the city, maybe we can at least stop the worst ideas.

My understanding of that new building at Temple + Broadway is that the street level will be retail, lots of little shops. I hope it won't be nail salons. But there's nothing specific about it at this time. At least the construction is finally progressing.

Last I looked at the plan (a while ago), it was four small storefronts on the ground floor on broadway, with three levels of housing above, and parking below. (All four levels are housing on Temple.) That looks reasonably like what's going in.

It is really good quality, I like the vanilla buttermilk. Know ahead of time they have more creative/gourmet flavors than a generic ice cream place. They add something new to our options.
