Fireworks?

Does anyone know anything about the various fireworks set off through the city this evening?

I started hearing a bunch scattered around and realized it didn't sound like it was coming from Trum field; when I got to the corner of the bike path and Willow a few went up right in front. I saw the remains of the box/launcher on Lexington justr off of Willow and was still hearing more go off in the distance.

Someone had a plan, and I assume there was a network of people involved.

Yeah, these were definitely local (not legal) fireworks very near my house, not the MIT or Winchester ones.

This was an MIT alumni reunion event, Toast to Tech. The fireworks celebrated the 100th anniversary of MIT moving to their current campus in Cambridge. Before June 1916, they were on Bolyston Street in Boston, near Copley Square, in a building that was later demolished to make way for the current New England Life Insurance Building.

(Edit: I'm referring to fireworks around 10:30 tonight. On Reddit I read that there were also Winchester Town Day fireworks earlier in the evening)
