In previous years, there have been days for hazardous waste disposal in June and September at the DPW. This year, I can't find any mention of them, on the city website or the ResiStat mailings. What are we to do with our hazardous waste?

However, Save Our Stuff in Charlestown does accept styrofoam dropoffs.

The DPW is not great at putting the info on the website and I usually lose the mailing, so I spend a lot of time looking it up again - http://www.somervillema.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Enviro%20Service%20Guide%202016%20Final.pdf

Date: 2016-06-19 12:52 pm (UTC)It apparently had gone out by mail, and a lot of people got them, but our household didn't get one this year. I rely on this all the time, so I picked up one from the Sustainability Office.
I needed a styrofoam recycling, but the June one got cancelled.

You can use the "get a calendar" link to add it to your Google, Mac, or MS calendar, or "get a reminder" to, well, get a reminder. I have it on my calendar and it's great to be able to see at a glance if it's yard waste week or if I have to wait a week.
