Fireworks?

Hi. Does anyone here know why we were seeing and hearing fireworks tonight, around 9:40 pm? From where I was (Lowell and Woodbine streets), they seemed to be coming from the direction of Medford Hillside.

We heard it in Union square too. Maybe part of the big gay dance party for pride week?

I don't think so. That was scheduled to end at 8:30, and the fireworks were definitely northwest of Somerville Junction Park when I heard and saw them.

Last night I was at fireworks for Winchester Town Day. Maybe that? they lasted from 9:20 to 9:50 or so.

Thanks. That matches the time and direction of the fireworks I was seeing and (mostly) hearing. At first, I wondered where the approaching thunderstorm was.

Makes sense! I heard the same around the same time from East Arlington, and the direction the sound was coming from didn't sound right for Tufts, but I also didn't think I'd heard anything about fireworks in Arlington Center or for the Greek Festival ...
