Ok.. so this is completely lame and you will chuckle but laughing is good for the heart.

So I have never had a manicure (am a man..) but I would like to and am wondering about all the nail shops that have cropped up in the square. Are any of those good/better/best? I look in as I walk by and think "hmm... yeah, that looks like a comfortable scene.. (not)" I have memories of some bad Seinfeld episode with Elaine + Frank + feet (I don't recall the details).

Do they use nasty chemicals? (I'll save my questions about waxing until you stop laughing... ;-)

First of all, chill out. It's 2005 and no one cares about what gender is behind the nails. Okay, no one I talk to at least, which might be a different thing.

Second of all, Square Nail (right on the Square, at 11 Holland St across from the T stop) gets the best reviews: As you can see here (http://www.livejournal.com/community/davis_square/381322.html). Though that was specifically about pedicures, I'm sure the info transfers.

The place accross from Mario's does waxing, on men, which I know from second hand experience. Not being a man, I can't get firsthand, but I've gotten about as close as I can. Weird syntax. Done now.
