can anybody recommend good pizza places that deliver to the davis/powderhouse neighborhood?

extra points for yuppieish elaborate pizza toppings (my favorite is garlic-and-eggplant :)

We order from Pini's which is next to Wang's in Magoun Sq. Don't recall that they have unusual combos, but it's good stuff.

Pini's is a favorite of most folks I know. No fancy toppings, but amazing pizza!

The Pini's I had was notably bad.

Huh, maybe they have some new cooks? I haven't had any of their pizza since the summer, but I've been a huge fan for many years. Lovely, thin, sweet, and cheap pizza...

Bertucci's has those toppings and lots of others of that ilk, but sadly, I am not aware of any that deliver to this neighborhood anymore. Back when they closed the one nearby (the very first ever!) they promised they would soon open another that would deliver here, but if it's happened, I'm not aware of it.

(PS: I realize this wasn't a very useful response, but I'm hoping someone else will see it and say something like, "Oh, the [foo] Bertucci's delivers to Davis Square now!" :)

Are you serious? Because you shouldn't kid about that sort of thing. (I know you have insider info and all. :)

Seriously -- my roomate and I successfully ordered in from there just a couple of weeks ago. It was *fabulous*.

Yet another vote for Urban Gourmet here. I don't live in Davis but I've had their pizza and it is very very good.

I love Urban Gourmet's salads & pasta, but for pizza I go to Davis Square Pizza (Willow & Highland). They're not particularly yuppie, but they have garlic and eggplant. They're closed on Sundays, though.

Hm. Fried eggplant or roasted?

(Most any pizza place should be able to put their Eggplant Parm eggplant on a pizza, but I liked Bertucci's because it was roasted, not fried.)

Agreed. I was asking dougo which the place he referred to had, but I assume it was fried. Looks like good news above, though, for yuppie-pizza lovers! :)

Di Mio in Porter Sq rocks. Super tasty, awesome yuppieish toppings. Not sure if they deliver that far or not, call them and see.

They have a website, but it looks like they forgot to pay their hosting bill. ;o)

seconded! they're awesome. and if you take their online survey (once their site is working again), you don't get charged a delivery fee.

depending on my mood, i'll go with urban gourmet or pini's. pini's makes a good calzone.

It's been a few years since I've been there for pizza, but Cristo's Five Star used to have pretty good specialties for a basic greek pizza place. I used to get the ricotta, garlic, chicken and mushroom.

I also really like Cristo's. Especially with a chicken-garlic-mushroom-artichoke combo. Mmm :) (I haven't tried the others because generally, I/we have just called for take-out, and it's a whopping block away from the SO.)

We've always been a big fan of Theo's, which is in Teele square, and does deliver. I think they have eggplant, I know they make a nice garlic pizza.
