Food glorious food

Despite having lived here since May, I am terrible and am yet to find out which tasty places deliver to my Somerville home. So I turn to you, Davis square residents, to recommend some of the most delicious (and price friendly!) places from which I can order food. Suggestions moving outside of the standard pizza/subs/chinese would be much appreciated

(for the record, I live near Magoun sq, not sure if that places me out of range of anything)

I'm afraid that I have no idea where McGoun Square is... I live up on Highland Avenue and we get delivery from Yummy Hut (Chinese), Andrea's (pizza), China Sun, Wing Works, Dominos. All of them have been excellent.

for sandwiches i like tasty gourmet
for everything i like urban gourmet (great pasta, sandwiches, entress, salads and pizza)
for pizza i like urban gourmet and top speed pizza
for thai i like thai kitchen
for bbq redbones delivers

also if you're in magoun, it doesn't deliver, but there's a ridiculously awesome place called Bob's on Main Street in Medford. They have the HUGEST salads in the world, and really awesome sandwiches, entrees, and Italian grocery items.

I love Urban Gourmet. Definitely like the way they make their pizza. Nice and crunchy. I also like their pastas. They are a bit on the slow side though.

I ordered from Top Speed once and they took over an hour! Not sure if it was just a bad night, anyone have better experience?

I've been in Tasty Gourmet a couple times for breakfast/lunch and found the guys that work there to be pretty rude.

Standard fare:
- Marco's Pizza is our favorite pizza delivery.
- DiMio is our favorite yuppie pizza, but it's past Porter towards harvard and don't know their delivery area re: Davis.
- Quingdao Garden is chinese, can be really exceptional or very generic, depending on the night and the chef.

Non-standard:
- Thai Kitchen. Good greasy cheap Thai delivery.
- Hana Sushi delivers. Delivery sushi! what more can you want?
- Redbones. mmmmmmm.
- there's always Dining-in (diningin.com). Just about anything you want, but can be pricey.

India Palace changed their menu last year, and now I really miss the Dosai. They also seem a little less good in general than they used to be.

If you are in Mcgoun Sq. The best Chinese delivery is Wang's Fast Food! Don't be put off by the name, they have incredible food and homemade dumplings. It will probably be quicker to just walk over and grab it than to wait for delvery.

FYI .. it's [b]Magoun[/b] Square, not Mcgoun or McGoun. It's where Broadway meets Medford Street.

How is it pronounced? Even the T isn't sure; some of the buses say ma-GOON and some say ma-GOWN. The existence of Olde Magoun's Saloon makes me suspect the former.

For delivered Thai, I'm a big fan of Sugar & Spice, down in Porter. Their summer rolls are to die for.

For Chinese, Wang's is indeed excellent (though the Chinese-only section of the menu frightens me, given some of the items in the English section). I'm also fond of Cafe China in Inman Square; they're sort of French/Chinese and quite yummy. They have a limited delivery radius, but I expect you're in it.

Urban Gourmet pizza is excellent, if and only if you have a high grease tolerance.

You can also put your address in to this website: www.foodler.com and they'll give you a list of all the places that deliver to you (that they know of). I've ordered from cafe Kiraz and Cafe Anatolia, both are great (from Anatolia, order your sandwhiches on "frocaccia" bread - it's actually sourdough bread, but the sandwhiches are twice as big).

Yummy hut probably delivers to you too (I'm assuming Magon sq. is where The Old Magon pub is....) and Wang's is right in Magon, if I remember correctly. They're both great.
