Looking for an accountant

I've traditionally done my own taxes, but this year I have a variety of issues (primarily related to my two-family house, which I live in & receive rental income from - and which I did a ton of work on last year) that I feel might be better addressed by a professional. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

I second this recommendation (unsurprisingly) -- I think Mr. James has saved us a lot of money since we bought a house, began working on it, and started a home-based company. Plus, every time we go in, he remembers our names and what we need to talk about. :)

Just out of curiosity, what order of magnitude have you paid for your taxes to be prepared by him? I can't tell if my CPA charges more than I could be paying for someone to do just as good a job, and we have some of the same issues, though not the house-thing.

We paid him $300 last year to do last year's taxes plus sort out 2003 and 2002 misfilings. I'm not sure how much this year will cost, but it will still be worth it! :)
