Sorry, but I have paid all bills via online banking save rent for two years, so I use basically 12 checks a year for that, and maybe one every other month for random stuff like paying back friends. Besides, my current checking account is new, but I've had checking accounts in general for 20 years. It's just a weird indicator to me. Mayeb you have more experience with this.

What did you do before the past two years? I've definitely heard of people doing this, although not so much recently since some people don't even write checks anymore.

I remember working at a store that wouldn't accept unnumbered checks (or any numbered below 100), which isn't too unusual, but they also wouldn't accept checks under #200 without a manager's approval. I think the smaller the company, the more you have to protect your own ass.

Before two years ago? It would not matter, as I just opened a new checking account in February and changed all my business to a new bank for personal reasons. On this account it will take me quite some time to get through the first pack of 500 checks.
