Mover recommendations?
May. 5th, 2006 04:09 pmMy husband and I will soon be moving from the Davis Square area to Beverly and are looking for mover recommendations? Or comments on who to avoid! We're willing to pay for a quality move but obviously don't want to spend a fortune either. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Date: 2006-05-05 08:25 pm (UTC)Also check with Nick's movers in Somerville. I heard great things about them, and called to use them when I moved (within somerville) on September 1st. Because it is a very busy day, they were booked. The only reason I mention Nick's is I believe their hourly rate was a bit lower, at least last sept when I was checking.

Date: 2006-05-05 08:49 pm (UTC)Once used Dragonfly Movers. Paid a lot for them to travel up from J.P. and back. Was promised a truck and got a van instead so I ended up shelling out extra since it took tetris-ing and multiple trips (the truck promised would've taken one trip, not 3, and no time/$$$ spent arranging stuff -- I had one mover moving and another simply arranging opposed to 2 people actually moving like Nick's had and as I expected). Ended up costing a bunch more than Nick's did especially after being deceived on the vehicle I was getting.
