May. 10th, 2006 01:43 pmCan anyone recommend a wedding planner (doesnt havent to be in boston...i live in somerville and wouldnt mind traveling a little bit if worth it) who didnt spend an extrodinarily large amount of money for the wedding? I would like to get price ranges (if you know offhand what you paid), and what sort of style the person had. I know nothing about wedding planning and I dont know when I am supposed to start doing the steps towards the date :)
Thanks so much!

Date: 2006-05-10 06:12 pm (UTC)Additionally, if you book a location like a hotel or a wedding facility, they often have planners that come as part of your package, so if you are looking to get married in a place like that, you might want to wait on getting a planner. Although, you can still have your own outside planner even if you use a place that gives you a planner. I mean, it is pretty sure that a planner that is part of a hotel ballroom package is going to be working for the hotel and not for you.
Congratulations and good luck with the planning. It is both really cool and really sucky. :-)

Date: 2006-05-10 06:21 pm (UTC)I just feel so clueless in general. I dont know where to find civil people who can add spiritual stuff to the ceremony (neither of us are too religious but want something spiritual), and other various things like that.
:)
Thanks!

Date: 2006-05-10 09:55 pm (UTC)Well, your fiance probably can't get married in a Catholic church, but that doesn't rule out other kinds of churches.
UUism is a religion that grew out of Protestant Christianity but really isn't Christian at all anymore. We believe in a "free and responsible search for truth and meaning," which is to say that there are lots of ways to truth and our churches are ways of helping you find those paths. There are UU Christians, UU Jews, UU Buddhits, UU Pagans, and they all co-exist pretty peacefully together.
For more information, see http://uua.org/
Good luck to you!
