Gym?

Hey peoples, does anyone know of a decent gym in the Davis Square area (maybe even within walking distance)? I haven't found anything yet in my search online.

There isn't a gym directly in Davis. The nearby options include Bally's, Healthworks, Work out World, Arlington Fitness, etc. If you are without a car, Bally's and Healthworks (female only) are in Porter. There are a couple of gyms on Mass Ave. in Arlington which are accessible by bus. Work Out World is on the over side of the Somerville/Medford line and I've been told that there is a bus in Davis that goes there. There's also several gyms in Harvard, a Boston Sports Club in Central, and many others.

The 94 goes right by Work Out World, and the 96 will take you most of the way there.

there's one on Mass. Ave. in Arlington, behind CVS, just on the other side of Alewife Brook. That's a short walk from Davis.

bally's and healthworks are both in porter.

The new One Davis Square building will have a Boston Sports Club, but that's at least a year away, maybe two.
