Jun. 1st, 2006 12:32 pmAnd I'm a girl. Let me explain - I have a hairdresser who I have been seeing for the past two years. We've had a few moments of miscommunication where I wound up with a decent, yet not-quite-what-I-wanted hairstyle. However, my latest hair cut was the last straw. I wound up looking like a cross between Hayley Mills in the Parent Trap and Mike Myers as Austin Powers. I thought to myself, "Okay, self! This isn't a great haircut, but it will probably grow out into something that looks okay." But no, now I just look like Michael Landon's less fortunate twin sister.
My question - Does anyone know of a hairstylist that gives a decent cut and who can generally follow directions for less than $30? Part of my problem is that I was seeing someone rather expensive ($60 a cut), therefore couldn't get my hair trimmed all that often, and I have short hair. So I would attempt to get a haircut that would "last". This means that I usually wound up with a style that I liked in the beginning, but that would later grow out into a mullet, or hated at first, but would then grow into something I liked. I could solve this problem by getting a decent hairdresser who I could afford to see more often.
I would love to see someone in Davis Square, but I'll take recommendations for stylists anywhere in Cambridge or Somerville.
Thanks in advance for your help!
