highland commons

does anybody here happen to live in the highland commons building adjacent to the bike path? i was just wondering what people thought of it. i have a friend who is looking to move into davis from arlington and it looks like a nice, well-kept place.

Friends of mine lived there for a year, and hated it. They moved out as fast as they were able.

-Their unit only had windows onto the interior courtyard, which the brochure said was climate-controlled. It was actually a greenhouse in the summer.

-They were not allowed to put an air conditioner out their window, because of course it would just heat the courtyard. But their apartment was getting unlivably hot, so they got a free-standing AC and stuck the exhaust out the window to get by.

-Management lied, obfuscated, and ignored them constantly.

-The 2nd bedroom of their "2 bedroom" had no windows and no closet -- thus not legally being referrable-to as a bedroom.

-It was indeed well-kept, however.
