i'd also like deli haus to come back :/ and maybe a pony.
for whatever odd reason, i am mostly lacking in the coffee house appreciating gene...i like them in theory but aside from curious liquids i've never really been totally won over by a coffee house. is mr crepe a chain?
the guy who owns it has one chain already - something about waffle houses in ski chalets, or something like that; he was very open and outspoken about his desire to turn mr. crepe into a franchise.
damn i loved curious liquids. and i'd give a kidney to get deli haus back. :P
I actually don't remember him saying anything about a Mr. Crepe chain. I thought he was just talking about adding more Waffle Haus locations through franchising.
no, he was definitely talking about expanding mr. crepe through franchising. that was part of his whole deal about having to reopen mr. crepe ASAP instead of waiting until (say) spring.
he was convinced people were going to try and copy his idea, in which case he could offer them franchising opportunities if he had mr. crepe up and running; else, if he *didn't* have mr. crepe back in business, his competitors would be able to take over the crepe market.
I didn't take that from what he was saying about his schedule. I thought he was saying he had to stay one step ahead in his *other* business, where he currently enjoys a defacto monopoly in a niche he created. (Hence the going on about the NYT (or was it WSJ?) article.)

Date: 2006-07-21 04:41 am (UTC)is this coop idea even feasible if the mr crepe guy already has a lease on the space?
