So I caught my mouse this morning. Cornered it in the pantry, plopped it into a brown bag and escorted it over to the play area on the street off Highland near the Brooks. It made a bee line for the electric blue house (sorry! ;-) that has been for sale for the last year.

So to recap....
...Borax didn't work
...live catch traps from ACE didn't work
...my silly cat refused to work

In the end it was a broom, a now discarded dish towel and my highly developed reaction time (honed recently through a stint of Halo). That mouse didn't stand a chance.

So if you see a rather plump mouse over by the swing set tell him it was not personal, just business...

You may be seeing him again. I've heard mice often return unless they're dropped off ridiculously far away from where they've made their home.

And I don't think my cat would know what to do if she saw a mouse. ;)

Turns out my six-and-a-half pound, anime-eyes cat, when she sees a mouse, is a brutal killing machine.

There have only ever been two mice in our apartment. The rest got word and stayed away.

i'm surprised the mouse wasn't scared away just by smelling a cat on the premises... the mice in our apt cleared out as soon as we got our cat, even though he was just a 4-pound kitten at the time

I should rent out my Aspiring Killer Siamese. He's desperate to catch any pray, but we never get anything bigger than bugs! (but he's funny when he's snarfing down a moth)
