Getting rid of glasses

Is there anywhere in Davis Square that I can donate old eyeglasses, so they can be recycled and reused for folks who need them? I've been carrying these things around with me for years. Alternatively, where's the closest Lenscrafters or place like that? Thanks.

Last time I noticed the opticians on Highland Ave near the middle of davis (right hand side as you walk towards davis) took donated glasses.

Yup, they've got a sign in the window, and they're thrilled to receive donations.

Unless there's a specific reason you need to go to LensCrappers (which might be "lower prices"), I'd avoid them. I've been very happy with Pirrelli Optical, in the back of the building with Bertucci's in it in Porter Square.

I wasn't going to go there for glasses. I was asking where the nearest one was to donate my glasses, in case there wasn't anywhere in Davis to do so. HOWEVER, I have used Lenscrafters in the past and have always been very happy with their quality and service!
