According to Rebekah Gewirtz's latest e-newsletter, a Mexican food chain called Chipotle will move into the Buck-a-Book space. H&R Block will move into the former Mini-Mart.

Chipotle used to be owned by McDonald's, but separated from them last month.

I'll try to post the full newsletter later tonight.

Chipotle is the Olive Garden of Mexican restaurants.

You know it's not authentic, you feel slightly embarrassed eating there (what if my *gasp* foodie friends caught me here?) but you usually end up eating there anyway because you've had a long day at the shopping center and there was a 45 minute wait at Bennigan's anyway.

yes, i know. hence i was saying that olive garden (usually, i'll exclude your attleboro experience) tastes good, while chipotle always makes me ill.

that aside, i agree that i'm not a fan of it in davis.

there was a giant sign on the chipotle being built by Wellington that says "the restaurant manager is the most important job." way to make their other employees feel needed. I couldn't place it, but that sign looked weird.

Chipotle to open at Bierbrier’s Wellington Cir. Plaza

MEDFORD, MA According to Bierbrier Development Inc., a Lexington-based developer, owner and manager of suburban shopping centers throughout Eastern Massachusetts, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. has signed a 10-year lease to operate the chain’s first New England restaurant in a 2,310 s/f space at Bierbrier’s Wellington Circle Plaza. Chipotle, a leading Mexican themed “fast casual” restaurant chain with over 500 company owned stores in the U.S., will open at the Medford shopping center in December.
In its first Boston area location, Chipotle will feature an outdoor patio and will operate with a beer and wine license. The restaurant will join key retail tenants CVS Pharmacy, Subway, Jenny Craig, and LensCrafters at Wellington Circle Plaza.
In reaching the lease agreement, Chipotle was represented by its real estate director Matt France. Chipotle, founded in 1993 by Steve Ells, is headquartered in Denver, Col. and presently operates in 21 states.

Chipotle’s lease coincides with Bierbrier’s planned 2006 - 2007 renovation of Wellington Circle’s Plaza. The center, located at the junction of Rtes. 16 and 28, has a total gross leasing area of 55,500 s/f and a 210 car capacity.

It's where CVS is... where Boston Market is... around the corner from Outback. Dunno what it's replacing, though.
