Just moved

Hi all! I just moved into the Davis Square area. Actually it's closer to Powderhouse Circle (Square?) and Ball Square but I guess those are part of the "greater Davis Square area". Anyway, I've visited Davis Square a number of times before, but I only know a few places: Redbones, Blue Shirt Cafe, Your Move Games, Disc Diggers, McIntyre & Moore, etc. Last night I wanted to find an Italian restaurant to take my visiting family to, but I had to Google for a while before finding Antonia's (which I highly recommend, by the way). Is there some sort of Davis Square business directory online anywhere? In particular, right now I need to find a place to buy cables (coax and ethernet) and a place to fix or replace a lamp (one of those tall ones that points at the ceiling). Any suggestions? Thanks!

For a local restaurant directory, including menus, try the TuftsLife homepage (www.tuftslife.com, which links to www.tuftslife.com/dining). I haven't spent much time looking for other businesses, but it has definitely come in handy for an emergency meal or two.

In terms of your current needs, there's a hardware store on the corner of Boston Ave and Winthrop/Curtis Street (it changes names on the Medford/Somerville border) and also Tags (home store upstairs, hardware store downstairs) at Porter Square. They could be helpful if you don't want to hit the mall just now.
