but they made a beautiful space into a slightly upscale fast food restaurant. They installed a cattle chute for cripes sake!

There was a "cattle chute" there when it was Steve's, you know. Plus ca change, etc.

The idea that the Boloco people have some responsibility to keep the Carberry's folks' interior design changes--pretty but largely impractical--seems to be prioritizing one bit of Davis Square history over another.

I could give less of a crap about the history of the place, I'm simply opposed to the cattle-chute fast-food aesthetic.

It's not the same building, though. They tore down Steve's to build Carberry's.

I'd appreciate a "cattle chute" over at Mr. Crepe. When I was there it was confusing where to stand while waiting to order and once I was sitting, people were hovering over my table while they waited to order.

If Boloco is willing to do beautiful things for the community, I'll forgive what you call the giving up of a beautiful space. (In fact, I think the space is just lovely looking now)
