hey everyone,

i'm a freshman at tufts and just realized that i need to find an eye doctor up here in massachusetts. i finally expended my stash and my eye doctor back home won't give me any more until i come in for another checkup--so i need to find someone here.

does anyone know eye doctors in the davis/somerville/medford area that accept oxford insurance?

thanks,
tim

Is this (https://www.oxhp.com/index.html) the company? The way it usually works is that you go on the website or look through whatever materials they gave you, and find a doctor that they listed. I hope this helps.

The Tufts health center may be able to refer you to some local doctors. Give them a call.

I've never heard of Oxford insurance, but I like Dr. Bonny Weingarten at Parrelli Optical in Porter Square.

I don't know if he takes Oxford Insurance, but Dr Roy Baker in Arlington is fantastic. You can catch the #77 bus from Harvard Square and get off right in front of his office.

That's funny -- I was a senior at Tufts, and practically legally blind with my old contacts, before I understood that you can just go to any ol' Eye World or whatever and get an eye exam/new contacts without having to go home to my eye doctor or find new (real) doc.

Some good options:
- Walk around Harvard Square. You'll find at least five eye places and many will do an eye exam. Most aren't open on Sunday.
- Take the red line to Porter and go to the eye place in Porter Square plaza.
- Take the 80 from Winthrop St. and Boston Ave. (the stop across the street from Espresso Pizza) to the Cambridgeside Galleria mall. There's Cohen's and LensCrafters. LensCrafters is always cheap.
