Somerville Theater

Does anyone know if the Somerville Theater has ever had a closing due to snow? I can't seem to find any info on their website and my email has gone unanswered. Since I'm at work, I can't call until later.

They've occasionally closed but I think it's unlikely. I'd wait until the first scheduled movie time of the day to call, as nobody is likely to be there earlier in the day.

Its actually for a concert there tonight...maybe I'll call around 5

also, since Danu is a World Music event, you may have better luck e-mailing or phoning that organization instead of the theatre.

Given the forecast, I'd say the only reason World Music would cancel the concert would be if the band can't get here. Danu played in upstate New York last night (East Greenbush) -- hopefully they were on the road this morning early enough that weather wouldn't be an issue.

They closed one day on a giant blizzard when I trekked over there to see King Kong. I think this snow storm will be much smaller, so I bet they're open.

I saw a movie there with about a foot of snow plopping outside once. I'm not sure if a concert would be a different story though.

The manager once told me that he would have closed the theatre had it only been showing movies, but he kept it open for a concert.
