Bread & Butter Konvenience [sic] for sale

The Alewife newspaper online reports that the Bread & Butter Konvenience [sic] store, at Mass. Ave. and Day Street, is for sale. Whether it would remain such a store after being sold, I don't know.

I visit the store occasionally, but find it much less well-stocked than the White Hen Pantry that preceded it. So if it goes away in its current form, I won't consider it a huge loss.

Star Shaw's Market and the other former White Hen (now called something like Gourmet Express) are open 24 hours.

It's good to have more 24-hour stores; I just wish this one was better, and I miss its predecessor.

At 3 AM, I don't really want to hike to Porter for a single pint of ice cream. It kind of defeats the purpose of the late night snack. Why burn off all those calories when I want them to go directly to my thighs?

But I hear you, they could indeed be better stocked; I just want my konvenience stores within a 5-minute walk is all. It's convenient. :)
