Bread & Butter Konvenience [sic] for sale
Jul. 9th, 2007 05:17 pmThe Alewife newspaper online reports that the Bread & Butter Konvenience [sic] store, at Mass. Ave. and Day Street, is for sale. Whether it would remain such a store after being sold, I don't know.
I visit the store occasionally, but find it much less well-stocked than the White Hen Pantry that preceded it. So if it goes away in its current form, I won't consider it a huge loss.

They aren't exactly Pulitzer Prize-winning material, but they are usually optimistic, and he is a lovely little slice of humanity in the most random spot. I haven't seen him much lately, but he always brightens my day.

Date: 2007-07-09 09:28 pm (UTC)StarShaw's Market and the other former White Hen (now called something like Gourmet Express) are open 24 hours. It's good to have more 24-hour stores; I just wish this one was better, and I miss its predecessor.
