by "visiting/hosting family" i mean the parental unit is coming over for dinner. (they live in wayland, they're not staying over.) maybe that counts as something social, tho.

I usually compartmentalize "family visiting" and "socializing" as two distinctly different activities. Probably because I'm from a small family that isn't partial to parties or gatherings. But I am, so I do those things with friends. But probably someone from a larger family might see it differently.

I picked "working around the house", but I'd also add "other" because while that's physically what I'm doing, mentally I'm obsessing over an interesting and amusing and possibly painful major life decision that I'm going to need to make very soon.

I picked other, because we're relaxing, but taking advantage of the gorgeous day! Peach picking at Brooksby Farm this morning and a bike ride over to the Esplanade this afternoon. Husband is now grilling out on the deck, kids are playing nicely together, and I'm putting the rest of dinner together (err, well, I was, but now I'm taking a moment on the computer). A lovely day!

My first "just relaxing at home" weekend since... June? May? Actually, this is my very first weekend with any time at all spent at home in two months :)
