ah. Then how do you know? What basis do you have for assuming? Considering I *am* blind and travel daily with a white cane and am a member of several blind advocacy groups and pedestrian safety committees....I'm just confused as to how you've come to your understanding....

Just, the vast majority of motorists don't accelerate into pedestrians. I still believe you.

How do you know what happened, however, without sight? Another commenter asked this and it made me curious.

Well obviously I had a person with perfect vision traveling with me, as I can't be trusted to leave my house all by myself, and after we strapped me into a wheelchair and put on the bumpers I set up my special goggles that transmit visual data into my brain and translate that information into how many steps it takes to walk from a trashcan to a telephone pole. Then I had a person on stand-by to walk beside me the entire way across the street and give me play by play of what was happening. In addition to the motorist, a yellow bird flew down from a maple tree and landed on a lower branch owned by what one could only hope was a sycamore tree and I do believe it was a slightly overcast day and the driver was picking their nose while tapping out the rhythm of "you're a good man charlie brown..."
