Do we really need more burrito's and taco's? Couldn't something more fun and maybe useful have bought that space? now I wont be able to get last minute halloween stuff....
Most of my AZ burrito experiences were in Tucson or in various border towns, and I'm far more likely to seek out the hole-in-the-wall places frequented by the natives rather than go after the dumbed-down sterile familiarity offered by chain restaurants. I'm pretty sure I've got the authenticity thing covered.
Yes! Tucson is muy authentico as far as Mexican food is concerned. Traditional and tasty! Did you go to U of A or know someone who went there?
Tucson is a strange town. It's a good place to be a slacker and running from the law as Mexico is not that far. It's a cool and liberal but everytime I went to visit friends there was also an element of total shadiness too. ha ha ha...
The folks have a condo in Scottsdale, but when visiting, I've never been satisfied with staying put. As a result, I've ended up wandering around in the Southern part of the state quite a lot.
I get what you mean about Tucson, but I kind of felt it had something to do with the fact that it's a dark city. After dark, it feels like it's a place out of time.
