I may be completely misunderstanding things. Both are indeed products of the flax seed; the only difference of which I am aware is that "boiled" linseed oil has been removed from the seed using a solvent - my understanding is that methanol is what's used for this.
[checks Wikipedia] Ah, I hadn't realized that linseed oil also comes from the flax plant. The difference is that linseed oil uses a solvent extraction process instead of simply being pressed. "Boiled" linseed oil is linseed oil with metallic driers added to make it dry faster.
