Cozy cafe in Davis/Porter Square?

davis_squareSome of you may remember me from asking about mattresses (ended up going with Sleepy's...the girl I got helping me was so nice and tried everything she could to get me a good deal). So now with one need of the body met, I come to you O wise and much-knowing ones of the Davis and Porter Square area...
Where's a nice cafe I can curl up in for a while that /isn't/ Diesel? No offense against Diesel, of course...it's a lovely cafe that's an excellent meeting/first date spot, but...I'm used to slightly quieter cafes where one can actually use a normal speaking voice to be heard over the (low, but still there) din of the other caffinated multitudes.
I and my stack of books I need to read thank you.
