Can anyone recommend a local veterinarian? We recently adopted a dog and are looking for an area vet for the future. Thanks in advance!

I tagged this post pets. Click on the tag, and you'll find some past discussion of vets (though mixed in with a lot of other stuff).

Im by no means an expert but I think "vets" might deserve its own tag. When you go through all the pets posts...a lot of them are more for lost pets, wanting a pet etc.

You may be right -- let me ask some of the other taggers.

I'd like to second the Vets tag, it takes a while to get through all of the Lost posts!

As someone who is currently looking through the pets tag for veterinarians stuff, I agree. (Especially since it took me a while to even realize that "pets" was the tag to look under -- the tags page is *long*, so my first strategy was searching for "animal" and "vet" with no luck, and then looking through the local businesses & business services tags because I remembered they existed. But no dice, so I had to read all the way down to pets in the tag list.)

Dr. Parker @ Porter Square Vets is great. It's actually in Davis Sq.

Cutting to the chase: Porter Square Vet (which is really in Davis). They're great for cats, anyway.

I go to dr. lightbody in everett..wholepet health center. shes been very good to my two dogs. for a little while I was confused because I felt like we were trying so many options for my girl dog for allergy solutions instead of the proper one. however I then realized she really does care and was just doing her job, afterall dogs dont talk. my dogs love going there...all the nurses remember their names, give treats, they dont even mind getting their shots. i know its not in the square but i posted anyways :)

Dr Ulrich at Huron Vet on Beacon. He's the best =)

Seems that everyone loves their vets.
I think Dr. Murphy at Union Sq. Vet is fabulous.

Have worked with Dr. Parker, Dr. Weiler, and Dr. Wilson (who is now, unfortunately, gone). We recently had to put our oldest dog to sleep and they handled it very well, very professionally but also very kindly. I have disagreed with them on some treatments but they are always willing to listen and come to a compromise. They have your pets' best health at heart.
